those techniques are good but add more time on it like 30mins or more and you will feel tired and sleepy. and if it won't work try listening to classic musics. do not think that you can't sleep, think that you can. its all mental... if your insomnia worsen better consult a physician...

I totally agree with you - having some relaxing time before bed has proven to be essential for a good nights sleep. I try to read before I go to bed, and I don't force myself to shut my light off at the same time each night. I try to go to bed at the same time each night, and I read until I feel sleepy. So far it's worked wonders!

You are not the only one with a funky nose breathing thing going on - Y has it too! Maybe it is genetic - or just a result of living the farm life.

As for not sleeping through the night, I have lots of experience with this - so here goes - try taking a bath before bed with something lovely and smelly. I choose lavendar massage oil. It smells great, leaves a ring around the bathtub, but also gives my legs a silky smooth feeling (it might also be because I have great skin now that I am preggo - but it is worth a try for the smoothness factor). Then break out the ol' yoga mat, before or during a sleepless night. Just start doing some ouji breathing. Let the mind wander and breathe deeply. If so inclined do a few stretches and if you get jumpy legs, put your bum to the wall and stick your feet in the air. Keep breathing. It can help me get through sleepless nights when I am overtired, have jumpy legs and thoughts racing through my head like a race horse.

Good luck. From the woman with lots of experience with sleepless nights and interrupted sleep.
